POST FROM JULY 23, 2025

In addition to the article on gallstone cleansing, Andreas Moritz shared highly valuable and precise information about the main signs and symptoms indicating the presence of gallstones in the liver and gallbladder or metabolic dysfunctions, and how to analyze them.

He demonstrates his extensive experience and thorough understanding of the body’s mechanisms, particularly those related to Indian Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) (acupuncture points, reflexes, meridians, and energy circuits, etc.).

After a gallstone cleanse, most symptoms often gradually disappear, creating the conditions for a return to better health. However, other factors contribute to a wellness and balance strategy: balanced nutrition, sunlight, regular sleep, physical activity, etc.

Thanks to him.

**THE SKIN**

The primary function of the skin is to constantly adapt our internal body to the ever-changing external environment, influenced by temperature, humidity, dryness, or light.

Additionally, the skin envelops the body to protect it from injuries, bacteria, and other harmful agents.

Beyond managing these external influences, the skin also monitors and adjusts to internal changes within the body.

The skin reflects the state of organs and bodily fluids, such as blood and lymph. Over time, bodily dysfunction inevitably affects the health of blood and lymph, leading to imperfections, discoloration, or altered skin conditions like dryness, oiliness, wrinkles, etc.

Almost all skin conditions originate from a liver imbalance. Gallstones cause circulatory disorders, reducing nutrient delivery and waste elimination from the skin, disrupting the normal cycle of skin cell renewal. The following skin changes are particularly indicative of gallstones in the liver and gallbladder:

- **Black spots and brown spots**, small or large, resembling freckles or moles.

They typically appear on the right or left side of the forehead, between the eyebrows, or under the eyes. They may also appear just above the right shoulder or between the shoulder blades.

The most significant are the so-called **liver spots** or **age spots** on the back of the hands and forearms, often seen in middle-aged and elderly individuals.

If gallstones, spontaneously expelled by the liver or gallbladder, get lodged in the colon, these spots may also appear in the area where the thumb and index finger meet. These liver spots generally begin to fade once most gallstones are cleared from the liver, gallbladder, and intestines.

Liver spots or dark spots are particularly common in people with very thin skin (Vata and Pitta types*) and blocked bile ducts in the liver. This can force bile into the bloodstream and accumulate in certain connective tissue areas under the skin.

Over time, increasing amounts of bile reach the upper layers of the skin.

Untreated bile contains toxins that prompt the skin’s melanin pigments to surround them for neutralization, protecting skin cells from deterioration.

The combination of the two results in the appearance of brown spots.

Bile pigments also contribute to skin discoloration. In extreme cases, the complexion and eyes turn yellow (jaundice). If the skin becomes gray and dark, it indicates the liver’s severely limited ability to eliminate toxins from the blood.

Most people believe liver spots are caused by sun exposure and normal aging. This is a misconception.

Liver spots, as their name suggests, are related to the liver.

Sun exposure merely brings existing toxic waste deposits, combined with bile pigments and melanin, to the skin’s surface. It is actually healthier for the body to move these deposits from underlying connective tissues to the superficial skin layers, and sun exposure facilitates this.

**Moles**

Andreas Moritz writes in the Q&A section with readers in Volume 2 of his book:

"Most of these skin imperfections seem directly related to developing or newly formed gallstones in the bile ducts of the liver and gallbladder.

Many of them tend to fade and disappear once the liver and gallbladder are completely clean or, in some cases, after the release of most gallstones.

Another explanation for moles, freckles, and liver spots is a deficiency in selenium and magnesium sulfate.

In this case, taking ionic selenium supplements (often more bioavailable) and magnesium sulfate can help eliminate them.

Selenium, like NAC, is known to strengthen the immune system, support glutathione production (a major antioxidant produced by the liver that helps neutralize toxins), and protect liver cells from oxidative damage.

As for magnesium sulfate, you can take it as a course for a few weeks or months, for example, by mixing 20g in a liter of water and drinking a small glass on an empty stomach every morning.

For external care, in his books *Timeless Secrets of Health and Rejuvenation*, he suggests trying to apply a solution of apple cider vinegar daily with a cotton swab, monitoring the skin’s reaction, to try to lighten or reduce them. Alternatively, a combination of castor oil and baking soda can be used.

You can also use magnesium sulfate in a bath (about 1 to 2 cups in a warm bath for 20 minutes), 1 to 2 times a week, to improve overall skin health, reduce inflammation, and support regeneration.

**Vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows**: There may be one deep wrinkle, two, or sometimes three in this area. These deep lines or wrinkles, not caused by natural aging, indicate an accumulation of numerous gallstones in the liver. They also suggest that the liver has enlarged and hardened.

The deeper and longer the wrinkles, the more the liver function has deteriorated. Fine lines appearing after age 60 are more likely due to a loss of skin elasticity than a congested liver.

A deep line near the right eyebrow also indicates congestion and enlargement of the spleen. The spleen may struggle to effectively eliminate dead blood cells and its own metabolic waste.

Additionally, deep vertical lines reflect significant suppressed frustration and anger. Anger arises when gallstones impede proper bile flow. A choleric disposition traps toxins that the liver tries to eliminate through bile. Toxic bile flows back into the blood, creating emotional agitation that leads to anger.

Conversely, anger can trigger gallstone formation. Anger, a powerful emotion, is known to disrupt the bile flora (bacterial population in bile) and alter the natural balance between bile components.

If white or yellow spots accompany the wrinkles, a cyst or tumor may be developing in the liver. Pimples or hair growth between the eyebrows, with or without wrinkles, indicate that the liver, gallbladder, and spleen have lost some of their ability to eliminate debris and cellular waste.

**Horizontal wrinkles across the bridge of the nose**: These are signs of pancreatic issues due to gallstones in the liver. If a wrinkle is deep and pronounced, it may indicate pancreatitis or diabetes.

**Green or dark color on the temples**: This shows that the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen are deficient due to gallstone deposits. This may be accompanied by a green or blue color on either side of the bridge of the nose, indicating questionable spleen functions.

**Oily skin on the forehead**: This reflects poor liver performance due to gallstones. The same applies to excessive sweating on this part of the face. A yellow complexion indicates issues with the liver and gallbladder’s bile functions, as well as weakness in the pancreas, kidneys, and excretory organs.

**Hair loss in the central region of the scalp**: This indicates that the liver, heart, small intestine, pancreas, and reproductive organs are increasingly congested and overloaded with toxic waste. This can promote cardiovascular diseases, chronic digestive disorders, and the formation of cysts and tumors. Premature graying of hair (before age 40) shows that liver and gallbladder functions are sluggish.

**THE NOSE**

**Hardening and thickening at the tip of the nose**: This indicates chronic liver weakness due to arterial hardening and fat accumulation around organs like the heart, liver, spleen, kidneys, and prostate.

If the thickening is excessive and blood vessels are visible, a heart attack or stroke may be imminent.

**Constantly red nose**: This indicates an abnormal heart condition with a tendency toward high blood pressure. A purple nose indicates low blood pressure. These symptoms are entirely due to imbalances in the liver, digestive system, and kidney functions. A diet high in protein significantly worsens this condition.

**Cleft or indentation at the tip of the nose**: This suggests cardiac arrhythmia or a heart murmur. If one side of the cleft is wider than the other, it indicates that one side of the heart has abnormally enlarged. Arrhythmia and panic attacks may accompany this condition. Severe lymphatic congestion, caused by digestive issues like constipation, colitis, or stomach ulcers, may be the cause. Liver functions are diminished because large amounts of gallstones block blood supply to liver cells. Bile secretions are insufficient. (Note: I have personally seen clefts on the nose disappear after a liver cleanse).

**Nose tilted to the left**: Unless caused by an accident, this asymmetrical shape implies that the organs on the right side of the body are sluggish. This includes the liver, gallbladder, right kidney, ascending colon, right ovary or testicle, and the right side of the brain. The primary cause is an accumulation of gallstones in the liver and gallbladder. The nose is likely to return to the center once the gallstones are cleared.

**THE EYES**

**Yellowish color under the eyes**: This indicates that the liver and gallbladder are overactive. A dark, even black color in the same area shows that the kidneys, bladder, and reproductive organs are overworked due to prolonged digestive system issues. A grayish or pale color appears when the kidneys, and sometimes the lungs, are defective due to poor lymphatic drainage. Additionally, the endocrine system may be affected.

**Watery bags under the lower eyelids**: These form due to congestion in the digestive and excretory organs, leading to insufficient lymphatic drainage from the face. If these bags are chronic and contain fat, they indicate inflammation, cysts, or possibly tumors in the bladder, ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, or prostate.

**White cloud on the pupil**: This is mainly composed of mucus and degenerated protein fragments. It indicates the development of a cataract, caused by prolonged poor performance of the liver and digestive system.

**Constant redness in the white of the eye**: This is due to protruding capillaries, indicating circulatory and respiratory disorders. White or yellow mucus spots in the white of the eye show that the body is accumulating abnormal amounts of fat because the liver and gallbladder are congested with gallstones. This can promote the formation of benign or malignant cysts and tumors.

**Thick white discoloration around the iris**: This color, sometimes covering the true iris color, indicates cholesterol buildup in certain parts of the circulatory system. The lymphatic system also experiences significant congestion and fat retention. (Note: To understand how structural and color changes in the iris reflect bodily abnormalities, I recommend studying iridology).

**Dull, lackluster eyes**: This indicates that the liver and kidneys are congested and unable to filter blood properly. Contaminated blood, laden with toxins and waste, is heavier and slower than clean blood.

Thick blood slows circulation and reduces the supply of oxygen and nutrients to cells and organs, including the eyes.

If this condition persists, an increasing number of cells deteriorate, age rapidly, or die.

The cells of the eyes and brain are particularly affected because blood must flow against gravity to reach them. Most vision problems are a direct or indirect result of the liver and kidneys’ reduced blood-cleansing capacity. Clean, nutrient-rich blood, thanks to a healthy liver, flows easily and better nourishes eye tissues, improving most vision issues.

**THE TONGUE, MOUTH, LIPS, AND TEETH**

**Yellow or white coated tongue, especially at the back**: This indicates an imbalance in bile secretion, the primary cause of digestive disorders. Toxic residues from undigested, fermented, or putrefied food linger in the intestinal tract. This blocks lymphatic flow in the thoracic duct and prevents the breakdown and elimination of toxins and microbes in the throat and mouth. In particular, bacteria like *Candida albicans* proliferate in the layers of excretions on the tongue, potentially causing a burning sensation and increased sensitivity.

**Teeth impressions on the sides of the tongue, often with white mucus discharge**: This indicates poor digestion and insufficient nutrient absorption by the small intestine.

**Pimples on the tongue**: They signal a compromised gut flora and excessive fermentation or putrefaction of food in the small and large intestines.

**Cracks on the tongue**: These reflect long-standing intestinal disorders. When food is not mixed with enough bile, it remains partially undigested. These foods undergo bacterial putrefaction, becoming a source of toxicity.

Constant exposure of the intestinal wall to toxins produced by these bacteria irritates and damages it. Lesions, scarring, and hardening of the intestinal wall are reflected by cracks on the tongue. There may be little or no mucus discharge.

**Repeated mucus discharge in the throat and mouth**: Intestinal congestion can cause bile, toxins, and bacteria to reflux into the stomach, irritating its protective lining and triggering excessive mucus secretion. Some of this sticky material reaches the mouth, creating a bitter taste and leading to frequent attempts to clear the throat, sometimes with coughing. Mucus discharge without a bitter taste occurs when food is not properly digested, and toxins are generated. Mucus helps trap and neutralize these toxins but can cause congestion in the chest, throat, sinuses, and ears, potentially leading to infections.

**Bad breath and frequent burping**: These conditions indicate the presence of undigested, fermented, or putrefied food in the gastrointestinal tract. Bacteria acting on the waste produce gases, sometimes highly toxic, resulting in bad breath. Chronic congestion of the upper respiratory tract and dental cavities can also contribute.

**Crusts at the corners of the mouth**: These indicate duodenal ulcers caused by bile regurgitation into the stomach or other reasons mentioned.

**Ulcers in the mouth or on the tongue**: These signal inflammation or ulceration in the corresponding parts of the gastrointestinal tract. For example, an ulcer on the outside of the lower lip indicates ulcerative lesions in the large intestine. A cold sore (herpes) on the lip corresponds to more severe inflammation and ulceration of the intestinal wall.

**Brown spots on the lips**: These appear when obstructions in the liver, gallbladder, and kidneys lead to stagnation in blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. This may indicate abnormal constriction of blood capillaries. If the lips are reddish (dark) or purple, it shows diminished heart, lung, and respiratory functions.

**Swollen lips**: These signal intestinal disorders. If the lower lip is swollen, the colon suffers from constipation, diarrhea, or alternates between the two.

Toxic gases formed from poorly digested food cause bloating and abdominal pain. A swollen upper lip indicates stomach issues, such as indigestion, often accompanied by heartburn.

**Tightly closed mouth**: This shows that the person suffers from liver, gallbladder, and possibly kidney disorders. If the lower lip is dry, peels, and splits easily, it may be due to chronic constipation or diarrhea, with large amounts of toxic acids in the colon, accompanied by advanced dehydration of colon cells.

**Bleeding, swollen, or sensitive gums**: These symptoms occur when lymphatic drainage from the mouth is inefficient due to intestinal lymphatic congestion. The blood must eliminate excess acidic compounds that the liver cannot remove, including in the gums.

**Inflammation at the back of the throat, with or without swollen tonsils**: This is caused by lymphatic obstruction. Tonsillitis, common in children, is a sign of constant toxin retention in lymphatic fluids and reflux of waste from the gastrointestinal tract into the tonsils. The tonsils act as blood filters to protect the brain and sensory organs. Commercial sugar and junk food significantly increase the risk of tonsillitis.

**Dental problems**: These are generally caused by nutritional imbalances. Poor digestion and overconsumption of refined, processed, and highly acidifying foods (sugar, chocolate, meat, cheese, coffee, soda, etc.) leach minerals and vitamins from the body. Each tooth corresponds to a vertebra in the spine, connected to a major organ or gland. For example, if a canine is decayed, it indicates gallstones in the liver and gallbladder. Yellow teeth, especially canines, signal toxins in the mid-abdominal organs (liver, gallbladder, stomach, pancreas, spleen).

Bacteria only attack dental tissue already imbalanced by an asymmetrical acid-base ratio and laden with toxins. Proper salivary secretions also protect teeth.

Healthy teeth last a lifetime with a healthy digestive system and a balanced vegetarian diet. For example, at 58, I have all my teeth intact, including my wisdom teeth, with only one small filling due to a small stone in a bean dish. I do not develop dental plaque and do not need dental cleanings.

**HANDS, NAILS, FEET**

**Oily, whitish skin at the fingertips**: This indicates dysfunction in the digestive and lymphatic systems. The liver and kidneys may form cysts and tumors. Excessive fat discharge may appear, such as oil on the skin, particularly on the forehead.

**Dark red nails**: These indicate high cholesterol, fatty acid, and mineral content in the blood. The liver, gallbladder, and spleen are congested, and excretory functions are overloaded with waste.

**Whitish nails**: These signal an accumulation of fat and mucus in and around the heart, liver, pancreas, prostate, or ovaries, accompanied by poor blood circulation and low hemoglobin levels (anemia).

**Vertical ridges on the nails**: These indicate poor food absorption and disruption of digestive, liver, and kidney functions, potentially leading to general fatigue. Very pronounced ridges on the thumbnail, with split tips, show that the testicles, prostate, or ovaries are malfunctioning due to inefficiencies in the digestive and circulatory systems.

**Horizontal ridges on the nails**: These indicate unusual or drastic changes in dietary habits, which may correct or create an imbalance.

**White spots on the nails**: These appear when the body eliminates large amounts of calcium and/or zinc in response to excessive consumption of sugar or sugary foods. Sugar, highly acidifying, leaches these minerals from bones and teeth. Excessive consumption of fruits or fruit juices can have the same effect.

**Hard protrusion on the sole of the foot**: This shows progressive hardening of mid-abdominal organs (liver, stomach, pancreas, spleen) and an accumulation of gallstones in the liver and gallbladder.

**Yellow color on the feet**: This indicates an accumulation of numerous gallstones in the liver and gallbladder. If parts of the feet are green, the spleen and lymphatic functions are severely impaired, potentially leading to cysts and tumors.

**Bump at the tip of the fourth toe or callus under it**: This shows stagnation in gallbladder functions. General rigidity, a hunched posture, and pain in the fourth toe indicate a long history of gallstones in the gallbladder and liver.

**Curvature of the big toe**: If the big toe curves toward the second toe, it indicates that liver functions are diminished by gallstones in the bile ducts. Concurrently, the spleen and lymphatic functions are overactive due to an accumulation of toxic residues from poorly digested food, metabolic waste, and cellular debris.

**White color and rough surfaces on the nails of the fourth and fifth toes**: These indicate poor performance of the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and bladder.

**STOOL CONSISTENCY**

**Strong, sour, or pungent-smelling stools**: This indicates poor digestion or foods inappropriate for the body. Fermentation or putrefaction of food and the presence of pathogenic bacteria create an unpleasant odor and sticky texture.

Normal stools are coated with mucus, preventing soiling of the anus. Needing toilet paper indicates an inefficient digestive system. Like healthy animals in the wild, healthy humans do not need toilet paper after defecation.

**Dry, hard stools**: These signal constipation, mainly due to insufficient bile secretion by the liver and gallbladder, making stools sticky. Diarrhea is another sign of poor digestive and liver performance.

**Pale white, gray, or clay-colored stools**: These indicate poor liver performance and insufficient bile secretion (bile pigments give stools their brown color).

**Floating stools**: These contain large amounts of undigested fats, making them lighter than water. Without bile, fats, oils, and protein-rich foods become indigestible and are excreted in the stools, a condition called steatorrhea.

Steatorrhea, recognized by foul-smelling, frothy stools, can lead to malabsorption of essential fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins. Undigested fats in the large intestine become rancid, causing toxicity and damage to the intestinal wall.

**CONCLUSION**

There are far more signs and symptoms indicating the presence of gallstones in the liver and gallbladder than those mentioned. Pain in the right shoulder, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, numbness in the legs, or sciatica, for example, may not seem related to gallstones. Yet, their elimination often resolves these symptoms.

The body is a complex network of information and communication, with each part influencing the others. Seemingly insignificant marks on the skin, eyes, or a toe can be warning signs of serious issues. By recognizing these signs, cleansing the liver and gallbladder, and adopting a healthy diet and lifestyle, signs of well-being and vitality reappear. To prevent disease and maintain lasting good health, it is crucial to understand what causes gallstone formation.
